Why does this appalling genetic modification (that's what breeding is) go on without more outcry?

There are a large number of people opposed to breed banning of any kind. They will say that these dogs will be fine if they are raised by kind, caring people.

But they won't be - because most kind, caring, law - abiding people do not want to purchase a dog who will scare the pants off their friends and neighbours.

If these dogs end up in "rescue" circles, who will they be adopted to? A "rescuer" can only keep so many animals in her/his own home.
So why does this appalling genetic modification (that's what breeding is) go on without more outcry?

Why don't the "fighting breed dog" apologists get out and save the habitat of species which are, rapidly, becoming extinct? The elephants, apes and monkeys, to name just a few.

Why must we lose the beautiful diversity of nature, that existed long before we came on the scene, to animals created by humans?

Why do humans continue to insist that it is our "right?"

Breeding living beings is not our right. Manipulating the genes of other species is not our "right."

One happy ending to a story that is most often sad and deadly for dogs

No animal, and yes, that includes dogs, cats, horses, birds, etc., belongs in captivity
