THE THIRD LAWYER'S ATTACK ON AAS BY THE BC SPCA

The SPCA has hired the expensive law firm, Lawson Lundell, to try to force the shut down of the AAS web site. This is the SPCA's third attempt since January 2001. The SPCA may have spent over $100,000 by now instead of just doing honest animal welfare and prevention of cruelty to animals so that AAS would no longer be impelled to try to force it to. Just being honest is the only way to silence AAS.

In 2002, SPCA lawyers threatened our Vancouver web server, NetNation, and it buckled. We moved to the U.S. where the SPCA left us alone for almost two years, and then this month sent our U.S. server thirty pages of silly allegations, many of them personal and defaming of me. In the whole thirty pages, Lawson Lundell makes no mention of the many proofs of SPCA dishonesty that we have documented. We have moved servers once again.

I knew that the SPCA would attack me when I created the AAS web site to show the world how dishonest the SPCA is. I believed then and believe now, that it is the public's interest to know what the SPCA is. But much more importantly, it is in the interests of hundreds of thousands of animal victims of the SPCA to force it to do real animal welfare or stop and let honest people do it.

I publicly stated my goal - to make the SPCA honest - and my reason - so that I could trust it to do honest animal welfare after I am gone - in 2000 when I created the AAS web site.

Instead of doing honest animal welfare, or leaving it to be done by honest alternative organizations who would then get some of the millions that the SPCA gets that they deserve, and doing only prevention of cruelty enforcement, the SPCA continued to promote itself as an animal welfare organization, it continued to contract with municipalities to dispose of stray dogs and cats, it continued to kill the unsellable product that its used pet business must get rid of, it continued to claim to have programs such as the Violence Link Project and community spay/neuter that are non-existent or close to it, it continued to sell sick animals, it continued to warehouse animal victims in its dirty, diseased, miserable, cheap facilities, it continued to cover up cruelty in its own facilities, it continued to pretend to have a "scientific" fool-proof test to determine if a dog was dangerous, even though the test was proven many times to be dangerously incompetent, and was being used to get rid of hard-to-sell dogs to make space for dogs that could sell quickly.

The fight will go on to make the SPCA honest.
